to tribes they do or did mean something. but to the average person who has one... no. they probably just got it because it looked cool. or tough or whatever. in my opinion, unless you are actually from an ancestry of people with a tradition of tribal tattooos then you should NOT get tribal anything. it's just dumb.

Tribal tattoo's are horrible.
Koi fish are nice but I don't think you could make it work with that.
Each to their own I guess… but surely stars and tribal are the most overkilled designs ever?
Don't just get something because you think it's fashionable!
Old-school, new-school, tribal, lettering/ caligraphy, biomech, celtic, realistic/portraits, scrollwork, religious, urban, geek [have the computerized look], traditional [not the same as old school], zodiac, patriotic, cartoon, fantasy..ummm … yeah thats all i can think of off the top of my head.
