Tatttoos are stupid period. You can disagree with that if you have kids, are 45 plus, or represent something sacred you respect on you body to give respect. Other than that, tattoos are attention getter or ego boosters to me. People tell me the tat on the back is for theirself but they can't even see it. It's for guys to think it's sexy. PERIOD. It's trashy, and overdone by too many girls. Stick a tat on your poonany and surprise me. You don't have to be like everyone else.

I was going to get on your 'poonany' about this, but as you so rightly say, if a person has a tat for spiritual, cultural or familial reasons it is ok.
I myself draw the line at kids having them. What is wrong with waiting awhile- tats buy drugs on line are for ever, no matter wot a Lazar spec may say.

You can't make a tattoo smaller. You can add things in strategic areas to make it look different, or do something really dark and big over the top of it, but ink is pretty much forever unless you have the money for the laser removal. Think long and hard before you actually do this. If you're concerned about being "trendy," maybe tattoos aren't for you.

They charge by the hour. Usually around $150 an hour. Do not go to any place that charges only $20 – $40 (unless they are a friend and are doing you a massive favour!). You should find a good place and email them to get an estimate of how long it would take.

Would not be possible to be done for 500 bucks. You are talking a pretty long time under the needle at least a total of 12+ hours. The least amount this piece would cost you would be somewhere close to 1,000.00 and that is if you are lucky and find a very cheep shop doing work for like 75.00 hr. But to be honest you most likely will not be able to handle a couple long sessions of that much solid black ink packing and you would have to have it done over several shorter (3-4 hr) sessions. Most likely it could be done in about 16 hours or work and costing somewhere around 2,000.00.
Of course all of this is just estimating and the information I just gave is about what it would cost to work up the pattern and have a large shoulder tribal piece of that style done in my shop.
