Well they don't really portray bravery but anything thats gold and has like leafy embelishment or some metalic gladiator sandals will complete the look

Book 22, lines 35-40 — Odysseus tells the suitors they are "toast" and starts mowing them down with his arrows. the entire battle scene in the Palace is pretty horrific – very gory….anyone would have to be brave to keep their head in the heat of battle.

Book 11, lines 40-50 – Odysseus is in Hell and awaiting the appearance of the blind seer. He is surrounded by ghosts who wish to drink the sacrificial blood but he keeps them off. (He states that "green fear" overtook him but he stays the course). Then he spends a great deal of time in Hades questioning the ghosts until the fear of death & decay does overcome him and he flees to his ship.

Book 5 lines 435-445 Odysseus is shipwrecked and floating in the ocean. He feels that he will perish but uses his brain, bravery and remaining strength to make his way to shore. He swims parallel to the shore (combating riptide).
