Are you a tattooed christian?
I'm just wondering how many people here consider themselves christian and have a tattoo. Also how you justify Buy Generic pharmacy that tattoo within your religion despite the fact it is forbidden by God in the book of Leviticus 19:28:
"Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the LORD."
Not trying to start a debate on the rights or wrongs of tattoos (because I'm heavily done, can't see anything wrong with it and couldn't give a sh1t if you do, it's your problem not mine) I'm just interested in how you feel about it within your belief structure.
Those of you aren't tattooed christians, this question doesn't concern you so please don't jam my inbox with preaching, that is not what I'm asking for.
And for those of you with crosses or any other christian images please don't simply claim you're okay because its a christian image, the bible says they're all forbidden, but I am interested if your priest/pastor/vicar or whatever you have has told you otherwise. My grandmother refuses to talk to me because I have piercings and I'm heavily tattooed with demons, comic book characters and bizarre quotes but loves my cousin who has three crosses (1 celtic, 1 tribal and 1 realistic, which looks fantastic) and says he is okay because her priest told her tatts were cool as long as they were christian images.
Just because someone will see this question as an insult, I'm not trying to insult anyone and I honestly do not mean to offend anyone (I know I can be a bit crass, crude and downright obnoxious at times) I'm only interested in your opinions and don't want to be innundated with people condemning me for mine.
Thanks for all serious and intelligent answers.

*raises hand* Christian with two tatts and will get more. I hope you will take the time to read my thoughtful response…
I don’t know why people seem to think that the passage you quoted condemns the modern practice of tattooing as a sin. Maybe at first glance it seems to indicate that tattoo is forbidden for Christians. HOWEVER, to comprehend the Scripture correctly, we must always examine the whole of Scripture and look at the particular context of a given passage. If we neglect deep study we will never truly understand the intent of the author. We need to look at the words of the passage in full connection with the surrounding verses, and in context with the historic setting at the time of its writing. When we study below the surface of this text, we then will see more clearly what God says about tattoo.
In this passage God is speaking to his covenant people Israel. He is specifically telling them to stay far from the religious practices of the surrounding people groups. The prohibited religious practices in these verses include eating bloody meat, fortune telling, certain hair cuts related to the priests of false cults, cutting or marking the body for dead relatives, cultic prostitution and consulting psychics. All these practices would lead God’s beloved people away from Him and toward false gods that were not Gods at all.
In the midst of this context we find the word translated “tattoo marks” in verse 28. It is important to note here that the context of this passage is not one of body décor but one of marking one’s self in connection with cultic religious worship. Bible commentaries tell us much about the eastern religious practices that God was warning His people to shun.
“The practice of making deep gashes on the face and arms and legs, in time of bereavement, was universal among the heathen, and it was deemed a becoming mark of respect for the dead, as well as a sort of propitiatory offering to the deities who presided over death and the grave. The Jews learned this custom in Egypt, and though weaned from it, relapsed in a later and degenerate age into this old superstition (Is 15:2; Je 16:6; 41:5). “nor print any marks upon you” (v:28 )—by tattooing, imprinting figures of flowers, leaves, stars, and other fanciful devices on various parts of their person. The impression was made sometimes by means of a hot iron, sometimes by ink or paint, as is done by the Arab females of the present day and the different castes of the Hindus. It it probable that a strong propensity to adopt such marks in honor of some idol gave occasion to the prohibition in this verse; and they were wisely forbidden.”
TO PUT IT SIMPLY: This verse was part of a collection of verses in which God was admonishing His chosen people to refrain from the local religious/cultic customs, which included carving & burning of the body (which Scriptures refer to as God’s temple) in worship of false idols & gods. With this in mind, the verse has no implications for the current trend of body art.
This problem of following Jewish laws first came up with the circumcision of Gentiles. The Apostles, through the Holy Spirit, decided that Gentiles did not need to become Jews before becoming Christians (Acts), hence they did not need to be circumcised.
Besides the scripture you’re reffering to is talking about the dead.
Leviticus 19:28
Do not lacerate your bodies for the dead, and do not tattoo yourselves. I am the LORD.
Yes, I have two tattoos I got early in my Marine Corps career, but I wasn’t a Christian at that time.
I would rather keep the tattoos instead of having two ugly scars on my arms.
I am a Christian and I have a tattoo but I regret it
Believers are not under the law of Leviticus. Believers are under liberty and grace.
If you keep this one law from Leviticus, then the NT says that you are a debtor to keep the entire law perfectly. Good luck with that. Because nobody other than Jesus has pulled that off in all of world history. Only Jesus kept the law perfectly. The rest of us are sinners.
The tattooed believer can enjoy their tattoo.
You need to understand that JESUS fulfilled the laws in the old testament. That’s not to say we can go and sin intentionally, but who are you to judge.
I’m a tattooed agnostic kitchen witch. “Harm none do as thou will”
i’m a christian, but i don’t have a tattoo (yet) and i fully support it. when you read that verse in Leviticus, you must also take into consideration that that is part of the old testament and so many of the laws laid down there were eliminated when jesus came. Also, would that include piercing ears and noses too? because in the story of Isaac and Rebecca, Isaac give her a nose ring when they get married. I believe the intent of the verse was to stop people from mutilating their bodies or getting tattoos that go against God (satanic images and such). I don’t think tattoos need to be Christian to be okay. if i get one it probably won’t be. As long as it’s not bad, i don’t think it’s a problem.
from your own words I see no reason for your post other than to incite negative responses… you already know that one of The True Christian faith should not get a tattoo… but if some one has one, or a dozen, it will not prevent them from becoming a True Christian if they come to God in The Way He prescribes…. and after becoming then no more would be allowed… it would then be a sin…. but you already know all this from you post…. so why the post in the first place?
You are redeemed, that is your justification my brother. I am a single mother serving God; my dad told me I couldn’t serve in any significant way but this is not true. I am a redeemed child of God! Your body is just a tent to see you thru til you’re finished here (as well as God’s temple). Some day you will be given a new one. And if God saw good enough to take you as his (and his temple), he will not reject you because of what you placed on it before. Every time you see a tattoe of a demon praise God that you have been set free from all that. You are a living testimony of God’s wonderful grace. Walk in that grace and freedom and pray for your grandma who doesn’t understand.
No don”t believe i should have One,Someone needs Blood, that would be a Hindrance:
